The University of Vavuniya organized a Non-Communicable Disease Programme to raise health awareness among staff. The Workshop on “Awareness Programme of Non-Communicable Disease” took place on 19th January 2022 from 02.00 pm – 04.00 pm at Soosairatinam Block of University of Vavuniya Pambaimadu. It was for Permanent Non – Academic Staff of the University of Vavuniya.
Dr. P.Sathiyalingam, Medical Officer, Health Centre, University of Vavuniya, served as the Resource person for this workshop. Participants gained more knowledge about heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and chronic lung disease.
Furthermore, Ms.V.Pavitha, Nursing Officer, Health Centre, University of Vavuniya, explained about breast cancer and cervical cancer to give the awareness among the staff.
This Non-Communicable Disease Programme gave staff useful health knowledge they can apply in their daily lives.
