Counselling supports any university student who needs mental and emotional health and well-being. The term ‘counselling’ may mean different things to different people. The Student Counselling Service offers support for all students of the University of Vavuniya, mostly in the form of short-term counselling.
The office offers many services to the benefit of the students.
Counselling to solve their problems related to psychological issues
There are counsellors (both male and female) available to meet the students who need support during the working days. All information is kept confidential. If necessary, telephone communication is allowed for fixing the appointment and for explaining the situation before a face-to-face interaction takes place. There is a senior student counsellor managing this service for the university overall. All three faculties have student counsellors.
