PROFESSOR KANTHIA KUNARATNAM GOLD MEDAL
The University of Jaffna invites applications for the Professor Kanthia Kunaratnam Gold Medal. This award recognizes the best overall performance in Pure and Applied Sciences. Eligible students must have graduated in the Academic Years 2022/2023 or 2023/2024 from the Faculties of Agriculture, Engineering, Technology and Science of the University of Jaffna, or from the Faculty of Applied Science and Faculty of Technological Studies of the former Vavuniya Campus of the University of Jaffna.
Eligibility:
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree of four years’ duration in Agriculture, Science, Engineering, Technology or Applied Science, with First or Second Class (Upper Division) Honours.
How to Obtain Application Forms:
Applicants can obtain applications from any one of the following:
- Senior Assistant Registrar, Academic Affairs and Publication Branch, University of Jaffna
- Deputy Registrar, Examinations and Student Services Branch, University of Vavuniya, Vavuniya

Submission of Application Forms:
Applicants should first complete their applications and attach all supporting documents. Afterward, they should post the application under registered cover to “Senior Assistant Registrar, Academic Affairs and Publication Branch, University of Jaffna.” Applications must reach him on or before 23rd September 2026. In addition, applicants must clearly mention “Application for Professor Kanthia Kunaratnam Gold Medal” on the left-hand corner of the envelope.

Note:
- Students who already submitted their applications at the 40th General Convocation, held on 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd February 2026, need not apply again.
- Furthermore, the University will not consider late, illegible, or incomplete applications.
