The Staff Development Centre (SDC) of the University of Vavuniya successfully conducted a Residential Capacity-Building Workshop for Academic Administrators, Executives and Administrative Staff from 11th to 13th October 2026 at Laya Leisure Kukuleganga Army Welfare Holiday Resort.
The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ leadership, teamwork, communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills while promoting mutual understanding, effective coordination and a positive institutional working environment.
A total of 16 participants took part in various recreational and team-building activities, including archery, air rifle shooting, ziplining and fun games. These activities encouraged participants to build confidence, strengthen teamwork, improve communication and develop trust and cooperation among colleagues.
The residential programme also provided an opportunity for participants from different academic and administrative backgrounds to interact, share experiences and strengthen professional relationships in a relaxed and supportive environment.
The workshop contributed to fostering team spirit, enhancing interpersonal relationships and promoting a collaborative working culture within the University of Vavuniya. The Staff Development Centre continues to support staff development initiatives that contribute to professional growth and institutional excellence.
