The Mozilla Campus Club Vavuniya launched at the University of Vavuniya on 19th November 2022. The inauguration took place at the Faculty of Technological Studies. Furthermore, the Department of Information and Communication Technology organised this event.
Ms. P. Amritha serves as the Club Counselor of the Mozilla Campus Club Vavuniya. Professor T. Mangaleswaran, Vice Chancellor, graced the event as Chief Guest. Additionally, Mr. S. S. Suthaharan, Dean of the Faculty of Technological Studies, attended as Special Guest. Mr. V. Senthooran, Head of the ICT Department, also participated.
The ceremony began with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp. Subsequently, the Department Head delivered the inaugural address. Ms. P. Amritha welcomed the gathering and guests. Moreover, the Chief Guest and Special Guest delivered special addresses.
The Dean launched the club logo. Meanwhile, Ms. P. Shorubiga, IEEE Branch Counselor, launched the club website. The Chief Guest then shared a special note on Mozilla campus club activities. Consequently, office bearers were elected from third year ICT students.
Mr. Krishnaprasanth became the First Chair of the Mozilla Campus Club Vavuniya. He introduced club members and their roles. Finally, the Dean and Head of Department distributed Mozilla swags to the Chief Guest. For more about Mozilla’s open web mission, visit Mozilla Foundation.
