The University of Vavuniya Research Grant 2024 (Second Round) is now open. Eligible permanent staff members can apply before 15 August 2024. Specifically, the university offers these grants to promote high-quality and innovative research. Furthermore, all research outcomes must contribute to Sri Lanka’s national development. Therefore, all eligible staff are strongly encouraged to apply.
Who is eligible for the University of Vavuniya Research Grant 2024?
Permanent staff members of the University of Vavuniya are eligible to apply. This includes academics, medical officers, and executives. In addition, applicants must qualify for a research allowance. Specifically, this follows Establishment Circular No. 5/2014 (i) and 5/2014 (ii). These circulars carry the dates 28 May 2014 and 30 May 2014 respectively. As a result, all qualifying staff must take this opportunity to advance their research.
Grant period and award details
The grant covers a funding period of 12 months. Recipients who show satisfactory progress may request an extension. The extension can be up to 6 additional months. The university expects all grant holders to use the funding effectively. Consistent research output is required throughout the award period.
How to apply for the research grant
Download the official application form from the URC website. Fill it in completely before submission. Submit the form through your Head of Department. The deadline is 15 August 2024. Also email a soft copy to urec@vau.ac.lk. Submit early to avoid last-minute delays.
Progress monitoring requirements
Grant recipients must submit quarterly progress reports. These reports help the university monitor each research project. They also ensure funding is used appropriately. A final report is required at the end of the project. It must be submitted within 12 to 15 months of commencement.
