The Centre for Distance and Continuing Education (CDCE) of the University of Vavuniya successfully held its 4th Awarding Ceremony on 22nd March 2026 at 10:00 AM, at the Faculty of Technological Studies Lecture Hall, University of Vavuniya, Pampaimadu. The event marked the awarding of certificates to students from the following programmes;
- Higher Diploma in English (HDE) – Batch I
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education (DECE) – Batch I
- Advanced Certificate in Media Literacy and Journalism (ACMLJ) – Batch II
- Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management (CESBM) – Batch III
A total of 94 students were awarded in this ceremony, graced by Distinguished Guests, including Senior Professor A. Atputharajah, Vice Chancellor of the University of Vavuniya, Mr. V. Senthooran, Dean of the Faculty of Technological Studies, Mr. S. A. Jude Leon, Director of the Centre for Distance and Continuing Education, Mr. R. Jeyakumar, Registrar (Acting) of the University of Vavuniya, Prof. G. Jeyaseelan, Head of the Department of English Language Teaching, Mrs. S. Mathivathany, Academic Coordinator/ACMLJ, Mrs. P. Sarmatha, Academic Coordinator/HDE, Dr. S. Shanmugathasan, Academic Coordinator/DECE, Mr. P. Sasitharan, Course Coordinator/CESBM, Ms. J. Vithushana, Assistant Registrar of the CDCE, resource persons, and staff of the CDCE. The ceremony concluded on a high note, celebrating the dedication and achievements of all students. The event also reinforced the University of Vavuniya’s commitment to promoting lifelong learning and supporting excellence in education.
