The University of Vavuniya invites applications for the Vice Chancellor Research Award for Excellence – 2024. This award recognises outstanding research contributions by university staff. It is the first time the university presents these awards university-wide.
Furthermore, the Vice Chancellor Research Award covers three categories:
- Category 1: Most outstanding young researcher award (applicants below 35 years on the closing date)
- Category 2: Most outstanding senior researcher award (applicants aged 35 or above on the closing date)
- Category 3: Most outstanding Inventor award
Terms and Conditions
Eligibility: All permanent staff members of the University of Vavuniya are eligible to apply. Therefore, both academic and non-academic permanent staff may submit applications.
Period of Award: Research publications, patents, and related achievements published, approved, or obtained between 1st January 2022 and 31st December 2023 will be considered.
Application Process: The duly filled application form and guidelines are available on the URC website. Moreover, applications must reach the University Research Committee (URC) on or before 30th June 2024 through the Head of Department and Dean of the Faculty. All necessary documents, including the self-evaluation report, must be included.
Additional Requirements: Applicants must maintain updated Google Scholar and ResearchGate profiles, which should be publicly available. In addition, the Google Scholar ID and relevant web links must be indicated in the application. The Google Scholar account must also carry email verification from vau.ac.lk.
