The SLUSA Elle Championship Vavuniya event took place in January 2023 at the University of Vavuniya. The Physical Education Unit actively organized the Sri Lanka University Sports Association (SLUSA) Interuniversity Elle Championship for all genders. Furthermore, Mr. E. W. M. Samantha Upul Wijesinghe, Director of Physical Education Unit, guided the organizing team throughout the championship.

SLUSA Elle Championship Vavuniya – Event Overview

The Physical Education Unit of the University of Vavuniya successfully hosted the SLUSA Interuniversity Elle Championship. Mr. R. Sivasegaran and Ms. G. Thusyanthy, Instructors in Physical Education, actively contributed to organizing this championship. Moreover, the entire staff of the Physical Education Unit, University of Vavuniya, provided strong support throughout the event. Consequently, the championship ran smoothly and successfully across both categories.

The SLUSA Elle Championship Vavuniya featured competitive matches from universities across Sri Lanka. Therefore, this event highlighted the University of Vavuniya’s commitment to promoting sports and physical education at an interuniversity level. Additionally, the championship provided university athletes with an excellent platform to showcase their talent and competitive spirit.

Awarding Ceremony – SLUSA Elle Championship

The awarding ceremony for the Elle championship took place on 8th and 9th January 2023. The following distinguished guests actively participated in the ceremony:

Furthermore, Prof. T. Mangaleswaran and Dr. M. Kayanan actively presented trophies and certificates to the championship winners. As a result, the ceremony celebrated the outstanding athletic achievements of all participating university teams.

First Runner Up: Wayamba University of Sri Lanka

Trophy and certificates were presented by Mr. N. Rajavishagan / Registrar, University of Vavuniya and Mr. N. Edwin Linosh / Team Manager Elle (Men), University of Vavuniya respectively.

Second Runner Up: University of Colombo

Trophy and certificates were presented by Mr. L. Ram Ramanan / Bursar, University of Vavuniya and Ms. P. Rukshani Team Manager Elle (Women) University of Vavuniya respectively.
