The SLUSA Elle Championship Inaugural ceremony took place at the University of Vavuniya on 6th January 2023 at the university playground. The Physical Education Unit actively organized this historic event. Furthermore, fourteen universities participated in this interuniversity Elle championship, including the University of Vavuniya team. This event marks a valuable milestone in the history of the University of Vavuniya.

The SLUSA Elle Championship Inaugural ceremony brought together Vice Chancellor Prof. T. Mangaleswaran, Registrar, Council Members, and Chairman and committee members from the University Sports Advisory Board. Moreover, Directors, Instructors, Coaches, delegates, referees and student athletes actively attended the inaugural event. Additionally, other distinguished invitees graced this special occasion at the University of Vavuniya playground.
This event marks a proud and historic milestone for the University of Vavuniya. Furthermore, this is the first time the university has hosted an interuniversity championship of this scale. Therefore, the SLUSA Elle Championship Inaugural event represents a significant achievement for the Physical Education Unit and the entire university community.
Championship Schedule and Participation
The SLUSA Elle Championship Inaugural marked the beginning of competitive Elle matches from 6th to 8th January 2023. Moreover, fourteen universities actively sent their teams to compete in this championship. The matches started with enthusiastic cheers from Vice Chancellor Prof. T. Mangaleswaran and other dignitaries present at the University of Vavuniya playground.
Furthermore, the championship featured both Elle categories with university teams competing at a high level throughout the tournament. As a result, the University of Vavuniya successfully demonstrated its capability to host major interuniversity sporting events. Additionally, the event provided student athletes with an excellent platform to showcase their talent and competitive spirit.
