The Virtual Learning Environment session took place on 28 January 2026. The Staff Development Center of the University of Vavuniya organized this session. Furthermore, the session targeted Academic Staff and Academic Support Staff. The event ran from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the Smart Computer Lab, Faculty of Business Studies.
Dr. S. Kirushanth, Senior Lecturer, Department of Physical Science, Faculty of Applied Science, conducted the session. He served as the resource person for the programme. The Virtual Learning Environment session highlighted the importance of VLE usage in Sri Lankan universities. Additionally, it clarified expectations from academic staff regarding digital adoption. Moreover, it emphasized the critical link between teaching practices and quality assurance in higher education. Dr. Kirushanth also discussed how digital tools support student-centered learning and institutional academic standards.

During the session, Dr. S. Kirushanth explained the VLE system comprehensively. He covered key components and functionalities through hands-on demonstrations. Furthermore, the session enhanced participants’ understanding of digital teaching platforms.
