Students from the University of Vavuniya participated in the Reecha Park & Resort New Year Celebration Road Race, which was held on 13th April 2025, covering the route from Palai Town to Reecha Park. The event featured participants in the over-12 men’s and women’s age categories, showcasing both endurance and competitive spirit. Representing the university, R.Gowshiya, S.Manoj, and A.Jacob competed with enthusiasm and determination. In the women’s category, R.Gowshiya had secured 11th place, demonstrating remarkable endurance and skill. In the men’s category, S.Manoj finished in 23rd place, while A.Jacob had secured 25th place, further reflecting their dedication to long-distance running. Their participation in the event highlighted the university’s commitment to athletics and competitive sports.
