The Staff Development Centre of the University of Vavuniya organized a workshop on “Problem-solving & Decision-making in State Higher Education Institutions”. It took place on 24th January 2025 from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm. The venue was the Smart Lecture Hall of the Faculty of Applied Science.
Prof. Gamini Senanayake served as the resource person for the session. He is Former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna and a Council Member of the University of Vavuniya. During the session, he encouraged participants to read influential books to improve their problem-solving skills. He also guided them on how to approach challenges sustainably. In addition, he emphasized the importance of altering their mindset and attitude toward decision-making. The workshop also gave staff the chance to address their practical concerns. They found solutions they could apply to everyday situations in their professional lives. This ultimately enhanced their ability to handle problems and make informed decisions effectively.
