Ms. Masma Sajahan Selected as Pilot SPOC from Sri Lanka
In IEEE YESIST12 2024, Ms. Masma Sajahan from the University of Vavuniya received selection as one of the Pilot Single Points of Coordination (SPOC) from Sri Lanka. Furthermore, under her dedicated guidance, eight teams from the University of Vavuniya participated in the preliminary round known as “IEEEYESIST12 2024 Prelims”.
Each team showcased innovative solutions driven by a strong passion for societal impact. Moreover, esteemed jury members Dr. Gunjan Varshney and Mr. Pradeepkumar Bharadwaj meticulously evaluated all project presentations during the preliminary round.

Two Teams Selected to Represent the University
Two outstanding teams advanced from the preliminary round to the grand finale. These teams were:
- VAGenix — Innovation Track
- Quantum Quest — Innovation Track
Consequently, both teams represented the IEEE YESIST12 Pilot Institute University of Vavuniya at the grand finale. The grand finale took place at Tunis Science City, Tunisia, on 7th and 8th September 2024. Moreover, participants gained valuable benefits through this global experience including:
