The University of Vavuniya signed an MOU with Chuvash University on 29th December 2022. This MOU Chuvash University Vavuniya agreement also includes the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka and Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine. Furthermore, this partnership actively aims to improve the training of specialists, bachelors, masters and postgraduate students across all partner universities.

The University of Vavuniya signed this MOU with the following institutions:
- Ul.Y.Yakovlev Chuvash State Pedagogical University — Russia
- South Eastern University of Sri Lanka
- Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine
Moreover, this MOU Chuvash University Vavuniya agreement focuses on conducting joint activities to improve academic programmes. Therefore, all partner universities actively commit to collaborating on training and development programmes for students at all levels.
