The Mozilla Campus Club at the University of Vavuniya celebrated Labour Day on 1 May 2023. Members organised this event to honour workers and recognise their valuable contributions to society.

Mr. Krishna Prasanth, Chair of the Mozilla Campus Club, University of Vavuniya, planned and led the celebration. Club members M. Kishokanth, S. Ladhushaan, C. Madhushan, T. Dhanushan, M. Dishanth, K. Vithushanan, S. Mohana Prabath, Logeeshan, Kajanthan, and Oveyan actively participated in organising the event together.

As part of the Labour Day Mozilla Campus Club activities, members distributed refreshments to labourers across the Vavuniya district. This gesture aimed to show respect and appreciation for the many contributions workers make every day. The team visited several locations within the district to personally deliver refreshments to workers in different sectors.

This event stands as a memorable occasion in the history of the University of Vavuniya. The club remains committed to community engagement and social responsibility through meaningful initiatives like this. Students from various faculties also showed their support and joined the effort on the day.

The Mozilla Foundation encourages student communities worldwide to give back to society, and the Vavuniya chapter demonstrated this spirit with great enthusiasm. This celebration highlighted the importance of recognising workers who contribute silently but significantly to the progress of the nation every single day.
