Invitation for Bid: Applied Science Canteen Upgrade

The Chairman, Department Procurement Committee, on behalf of the University of Vavuniya, invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the Applied Science Canteen upgrade project (UOV/CWP/2026/CP/02). Accordingly, the university will conduct bidding through National Competitive Bidding (NCB).

Eligibility for the Applied Science Canteen Project

To qualify for contract award, the successful bidder must not appear on any denylist and must be registered with the Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA) in the relevant grade for building construction (C6 or above). Additionally, bidders must register with the Registrar of Public Contracts, Sri Lanka, if the estimated cost exceeds Rs. 5 million.

How to Obtain Bidding Documents

Interested bidders may inspect the Procurement documents at the given address between 01.06.2026 and 19.06.2026, from 9:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs. Furthermore, bidders may purchase a complete set of Procurement Documents in English by submitting a written application to the Deputy Registrar, Capital Works and Planning, University of Vavuniya (T.P: 024-222-3911), upon payment of the non-refundable fee via the University website’s payment portal.

  • Estimated Cost: Rs. 48.72 million (without VAT)
  • Contract Period: 180 days
  • Bid Security Amount: Rs. 490,000.00, valid until 21.09.2026

Bid Submission

Bidders must deliver bids (original and duplicate) by registered post to the Chairman, Department Procurement Committee, University of Vavuniya, Pampaimadu, Vavuniya, on or before 10:30 AM on 22.06.2026. Consequently, the university will reject late bids.
