The University of Vavuniya proudly hosted the Inter University Football Championship 2024 University of Vavuniya as part of the Sri Lankan University Games 2024 (SLUG-2024). The tournament ran from 27th to 29th September 2024 at the University Playground, with the full support of the Sri Lanka Universities Sports Association (SUSA).
The tournament was ceremonially inaugurated by Prof. Arulampalam Atputharajah, the vice chancellor of the University of Vavuniya, with the presence of the registrar, Mr. N. Rajavisahan; the chairman of the Sports Advisory Board, Dr. M. Kayanan; the coordinator of physical education, Mr. R. Sivasegaran; the staff members of the University of Vavuniya; and the teams represented by the universities and their representatives.
Award Ceremony – 29th September 2024
The University of Vavuniya held the official awarding ceremony on 29th September 2024 at 5.00 PM. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Vavuniya presided over the ceremony and presented awards to the winning teams.
The ceremony recognized outstanding performances across all championship categories and celebrated the achievements of participating university football teams. All winning teams received their awards in the presence of university officials, staff, and fellow competitors.
- Champion – South Eastern University of Sri Lanka.
- Runner up – Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka.
- 2nd Runner up – Eastern University of Sri Lanka.
