The Gavel Club awarding ceremony at the University of Vavuniya was successfully held on 5th March 2025 at TLH 1, Faculty of Technological Studies. Organized by the Gavel Club under the guidance of the Career Guidance Unit, the ceremony celebrated member achievements in communication and leadership skills.
The Chief Guest of the event was Senior Prof. A. Atputharajah, Vice Chancellor of the University of Vavuniya. Special guests included TM. Arulneethan (President, Vavuniya Toastmasters Club), TM. Shamila (Vice President), TM. Laxmanraj (Sergeant-at-Arms), and TM. Sutharsan (Member). Their presence and encouraging speeches inspired the students to further develop their public speaking and leadership capabilities.
Many academic and Administrative staff members and students attended the event, making it a vibrant and inspiring celebration. The ceremony included speeches, certificate distribution, and motivational sharing sessions by the Toastmasters team. Overall, the event was a success, encouraging continued student engagement in leadership and public speaking through the Gavel Club platform.
