Promoting Health and Recreation Through Swimming
The Free Swimming Session for University Staff was successfully organised by the University of Vavuniya on 23rd and 30th July 2025. The sessions took place from 5:00 PM to 6:45 PM at the Omanthai Swimming Complex. This wellness programme encouraged staff members to improve their physical fitness and enjoy a healthy recreational activity.
The university organised the Free Swimming Session for University Staff to support employee well-being and strengthen team spirit among staff members. In addition, the programme provided participants with an opportunity to relax and refresh after their regular office duties.
Active Participation from Staff Members
A total of 12 officers actively participated in the swimming sessions. The participants included the university registrar and the assistant bursar. Furthermore, staff members showed great enthusiasm and commitment throughout the programme.
Professional instructors guided the participants during the training sessions. As a result, the staff members improved their swimming skills and gained more confidence in water-based activities. Moreover, the sessions created a friendly and supportive environment for participants to interact with colleagues outside the workplace.
