Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the Entrepreneurial Skills and Language Development

The Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the Entrepreneurial Skills and Language Development Programme took place successfully on 18th January 2026. The University Business Linkage Cell of the University of Vavuniya organised this Certificate Awarding Ceremony at the SMART Lecture Hall, Faculty of Applied Science, in collaboration with American Corner, Jaffna, Sri Lanka. The ceremony recognised students who completed the programme and encouraged them to continue developing entrepreneurial and language skills

Certificate Awarding Ceremony – Guests and Participation

Prof. Selva Selvanathan, Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics, Griffith University, Australia, attended as the Chief Guest. In addition, Prof. A. Atputharajah, Vice Chancellor of the University of Vavuniya, graced the occasion. Mrs. S. Mathivathany, Director of UBL, and Mr. P. Sasitharan, Career Guidance Counsellor, also joined the event actively.

Programme Highlights

The programme began with a welcome address. Subsequently, the organisers provided an overview of the Entrepreneurial Skills and Language Development Programme. Moreover, resource persons highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and language skills in today’s competitive environment. They also emphasised continuous learning and communication development among university students.

Certificate Distribution

Students who successfully completed the programme collected their certificates at the Certificate Awarding Ceremony. The university conducted the distribution in a formal and well-organised manner. As a result, the ceremony created a proud and motivating atmosphere for all participants. Furthermore, speakers highlighted the importance of innovation, communication skills, and lifelong learning throughout the event.

Collaboration and Impact

The University Business Linkage Cell and American Corner, Jaffna, worked together to make this programme a success. Consequently, their collaboration played a key role in delivering a high-quality learning experience for students. Overall, the Certificate Awarding Ceremony strengthened student awareness of entrepreneurial and language development opportunities at the University of Vavuniya.
