Cultural Centre Opening Ceremony at the University of Vavuniya

The Cultural Centre opening ceremony at the University of Vavuniya took place on September 6, 2023. Specifically, the event marked the launch of the Cultural Centre on the second floor of the university library. Furthermore, the celebration coincided with the 2nd anniversary of the University of Vavuniya, held at the Lecture Hall of the Faculty of Technological Studies.

Several distinguished guests attended the Cultural Centre opening ceremony at Vavuniya. Vice-Chancellor Prof. T. Mangaleswaran presided over the occasion. Additionally, the Honorable Consul General of India in Jaffna, Shri Raakesh Natraj, graced the event as a special guest. Moreover, Shri V. Ram Mahesh, Honorable Head of Chancery and Commercial Representative, also attended. In addition, Cultural Centre Director Mr. S. S. Suthaharan, Deans of Faculties, the Registrar, Bursar, Librarian, Heads of Departments, and all university staff were present.

The 2nd anniversary celebrations also included a special chess competition awards ceremony. As a result, school students from various schools across the region received invitations to attend. Therefore, the event brought together the wider community in a spirit of academic excellence and cultural celebration.
