Commencement of Work – 2023

January 2, 2023

The Commencement of Work Vavuniya ceremony took place at the University of Vavuniya on 2^nd January 2023. Vice Chancellor Prof. T. Mangaleswaran led this special New Year function. Furthermore, Deans of Faculties, Registrar Mr. N. Rajavisagan, Bursar and all staff members actively attended the ceremony.

Commencement of Work Vavuniya – Ceremony Programme

The Commencement of Work Vavuniya function began with the hoisting of the National Flag and University Flag. Vice Chancellor Prof. T. Mangaleswaran and Registrar Mr. N. Rajavisagan actively hoisted the flags together. Moreover, all staff members then sang the National Anthem to mark the beginning of the New Year.

Subsequently, Registrar Mr. N. Rajavisagan read the Public Servants’ Oath. All staff members of the University of Vavuniya actively followed the oath recitation. Additionally, this ceremony reflects the university’s commitment to public service and academic excellence in the New Year.

Vice Chancellor’s Address

Vice Chancellor Prof. T. Mangaleswaran delivered a special speech at the Commencement of Work Vavuniya ceremony. Furthermore, he addressed the following key topics:

Government policy and programmes to overcome current national challenges.
Achievements of the University of Vavuniya since its upgrade to an independent university.
Goals and targets for the university in the coming year.
The important role of staff in achieving the university’s future objectives.

Moreover, the Vice Chancellor actively motivated all staff members to contribute positively to the university’s growth and development. Therefore, this address set a clear and inspiring direction for the University of Vavuniya in 2023.
