Rishapa Vikneswaran, a 4th-year undergraduate student following the Bachelor of Science Honours in Environmental Science degree programme at the Department of Bio-Science, Faculty of Applied Science, University of Vavuniya, has won the SLT-MOBITEL Blue Carbon Research Scholarship, valued at LKR 150,000.00. The scholarship supports her research assessing blue carbon stocks in the Mandaitivu Salt Marsh Ecosystem, contributing to the understanding and conservation of Sri Lanka’s valuable coastal ecosystems. Dr. K. Arjunan, Senior Lecturer, Department of Bio-Science, Faculty of Applied Science, supervises her research.
