The University of Vavuniya invites eligible students to submit a Gold Medal Application 2024 for the 38th Convocation. Therefore, outstanding graduates who meet the award criteria should apply without delay. Furthermore, two prestigious gold medals are available — the Prof. Kanthia Kunaratnam Gold Medal and the Prof. Alagaiah Thurairajah Gold Medal.
Gold Medal Application 2024 – Available Awards
The following gold medals are open for application at the 38th Convocation:
Prof. Kanthia Kunaratnam Gold Medal
This gold medal recognises the most outstanding graduating student in terms of academic excellence. Consequently, applicants must demonstrate an exceptional academic record throughout their degree programme. In addition, candidates should have contributed positively to university life and community activities.
Prof. Alagaiah Thurairajah Gold Medal
This prestigious award similarly honours outstanding academic achievement among graduating students. Moreover, it commemorates the distinguished legacy of Prof. Alagaiah Thurairajah and his contributions to higher education in Sri Lanka. Specifically, eligible students from relevant faculties are encouraged to apply.
Who Can Apply for the Gold Medal Application 2024
The Gold Medal Application 2024 is open to graduating students of the University of Vavuniya who meet the following criteria:
- Outstanding academic performance throughout the degree programme
- Enrolled as a student during the eligible academic years
- Nominated or recommended by the relevant Faculty Dean
- Meeting any additional criteria specified by the university for each medal
Consequently, students who believe they qualify should consult their Faculty Dean or the Registrar’s Office for confirmation before applying.
How to Apply
Eligible students must obtain the application form from the Registrar’s Office or download it from the university website. Moreover, completed applications must be submitted before the closing date specified by the university. Additionally, supporting documents confirming academic performance must be attached.
