Unclaimed Bicycles UOV – University of Vavuniya Notice

The University of Vavuniya has issued an unclaimed bicycles UOV notice about a number of bicycles that have sat parked, with no owner coming forward, at two locations on campus for an extended period. The bicycles have remained unattended for more than three years, and the university administration is now taking formal action to resolve the matter.

Where the Bicycles Are Located

The notice states that the unclaimed bicycles currently sit at two specific locations within the university premises:

  • The Kurumankadu premises
  • The inner circular road premises

The Administration Branch oversees both locations and has been monitoring these bicycles as part of routine premises management.

What Bicycle Owners Need to Do

Any student, staff member, or other individual who believes a bicycle at either location belongs to them must take the following steps:

  1. Contact the Assistant Registrar, Administration Branch, University of Vavuniya, Pampaimadu
  2. Bring written evidence proving ownership of the bicycle
  3. Collect the bicycle in person on or before 27.06.2022

Owners should note that the university will not accept verbal claims alone — they must bring documented proof of ownership before staff will release any bicycle.

What Happens After the Deadline

The University will take over any bicycles that remain unclaimed after 27.06.2022, following standard institutional procedure for abandoned items on campus.

Contact Details

Students and staff should check with the Administration Branch promptly, as the university will not entertain claims submitted after the deadline. For more updates and official notices, visit the University of Vavuniya website.
