WALK IN INTERVIEW
The University of Vavuniya will hold walk-in interviews for the following posts on 27th of July 2026, 28th of July 2026, 06th of August 2026, and 07th of August 2026 at the Board Room of the Faculty of Applied Science, University of Vavuniya, Pambaimadu, Vavuniya, as follows:
Candidates who have the required qualifications should attend this interview with the relevant certificates for educational and professional qualifications, evidence of research and publications and extra-curricular activities, service certificates, NIC, and curriculum vitae, along with the duly filled application form, which they can download from the University website www.vau.ac.lk.
Faculty of Applied Science (FAS)
A. Department of Physical Science
i. Temporary Assistant Lecturer in Information Technology (Available vacancies – 02)
Note: The department will give preference to candidates holding a BSc (Hons) in Information Technology /Computer Science
ii. Temporary Assistant Lecturer in Applied Mathematics & Computing (Available vacancies – 01)
Note: The department will give preference to candidates holding a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics
iii. Instructor in Computer Technology (Contract) (Available vacancies – 02)
→ The university will interview candidates for i, ii, iii on 27th of July 2026 at 09.00 a.m.
iv. Temporary Demonstrator in Information Technology (Available vacancies – 06)
v. Temporary Demonstrator in Applied Mathematics and Computing (Available vacancies – 06)
→ The university will interview candidates for iv, v on 06th of August 2026 at 09.00 a.m.
B. Department of Bio-Science
i. Temporary Assistant Lecturer in Environmental Science (Available vacancies – 02)
• Note: Preference will be given to candidates holding a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science
(Available vacancies – 01)
• Note: Preference will be given to candidates holding a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry

ii. Temporary Demonstrator in Environmental Science (Available vacancies – 06)
→ Interview: 07th of August 2026 at 09.00 a.m.
Qualifications:
- Temporary Assistant Lecturer
- A Degree with specialization in the relevant subject – Ref. UGC Commission Circular No.721 in UGC Website www.ugc.ac.lk.
- Temporary Demonstrator
- A Degree in the relevant subject – Ref. UGC Commission Circular No.721 in UGC Website www.ugc.ac.lk.
- Instructor in Computer Technology (On Contract) –
- A Degree in the relevant subject – Ref. UGC Commission Circular No.725 in UGC Website www.ugc.ac.lk.
Method of Recruitment: By structured interview
Salary:
- Temporary Demonstrator – Rs.68,145/- (fixed)
- Temporary Assistant Lecturer – Rs.85,305/- (fixed)
- Instructor in Computer Technology (Contract) – Rs.85,305/- (fixed)
Note:
- Salary will be paid based on the UGC Commission Circular No.02/2025(i)
- In addition to the salary, the allowances approved by the University Grants Commission will also be paid
