A strategic discussion was held with Mr. Nash Sivaganesh, Vice President of Version, USA, as part of the University of Vavuniya’s continuous engagement with global industry leaders to strengthen academic-industry linkages and promote innovation-driven development. The meeting brought together the Vice Chancellor, Senior Professor A. Atputharajah, Deans of the Faculties, Director of the Career Guidance Unit, Career Advisors of the respective faculties, and the Career Guidance Counsellor. The session focused on several key thematic areas of mutual interest: Project Management Accreditation, SME Development, Start-up Ecosystem Support, ICT Advancement, and Artificial Intelligence Development. Mr. Sivaganesh, leveraging his extensive global experience in technology and business leadership, shared valuable insights into international best practices, technological integration in enterprise growth, and strategies to bridge skill gaps in emerging sectors.
He emphasized the importance of aligning university curricula with global industry standards and stressed the role of practical exposure and mentorship in nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset among students. Furthermore, he appreciated the University’s initiatives in fostering innovation and offered constructive suggestions for scaling impact through international collaborations. As a significant outcome of the discussion, Mr. Sivaganesh expressed his strong willingness to support the university in the above-discussed areas. He pledged to explore possibilities for joint projects, facilitate industry-academia partnerships, and extend mentorship and technical expertise for future initiatives, particularly in the domains of start-up development, ICT innovation, and AI integration.
