The University Business Linkage (UBL) Cell of the University of Vavuniya conducted a strategic meeting with the Gate Institute on 09th April 2026 at the IT Centre Boardroom to strengthen university–industry collaboration under the Northern Development Initiative. The discussion focused on promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and knowledge sharing to support sustainable regional economic growth.
The GIVE Nexus Program, launched in 2023, aims to enhance Sri Lanka’s innovation ecosystem by connecting universities, entrepreneurs, and industry. The program is being refined to improve entrepreneurial mindset, support systems, and industry engagement, while promoting innovation centers, funding opportunities, and youth skill development.
The Northern Universities Regional Transformation & Research Ecosystem (NURTURE) Project is a results-oriented initiative supporting university-led regional development. It involves active participation of university deans and joint governance with GATE Sri Lanka. The project is initiated with institutional support provided through resources and infrastructure.
