The Staff Development Centre of the University of Vavuniya, in collaboration with the Faculty of Technological Studies, University of Vavuniya, organized a hands-on session titled “Generative AI for Productivity” on 2nd September 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, at TCL 1, Faculty of Technological Studies. This session was specifically designed for Executive, Administrative, and relevant Non-Academic staff members. The workshop was conducted by Prof. R.G. Ragel, Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, along with Prof. R. Godaliyaddda, Prof. V. Herath, and Dr. G. Premila Gamage.
The session focused on demonstrating how Generative AI can be used effectively to boost productivity and empower human capital within the University of Vavuniya. Participants were introduced to a variety of AI tools and applications that can assist with routine office tasks, enhance time management, and streamline workflows. Overall, the session was considered informative and impactful, providing practical insights into leveraging AI to enhance workplace productivity.
