Wayamba University of Sri Lanka invited the University of Vavuniya to participate in a friendly carrom match held on 24th August 2025 at the Wayamba University premises. Twelve carrom players from the University of Vavuniya were selected to represent the university in this event, which served as a valuable practice opportunity ahead of the Sri Lanka University Games 2025.
The match was organised to foster sportsmanship, strengthen inter-university relationships, and help players gain competitive experience. During the event, both universities played two matches, with each team securing one win, resulting in a 1–1 draw. The matches were played in a spirited and friendly atmosphere, allowing participants to showcase their skills, teamwork, and strategic thinking. Overall, the event was a meaningful step in preparing for the upcoming university games and highlighted the enthusiasm and talent of student athletes from both universities.
