Wayamba University of Sri Lanka invited the University of Vavuniya to participate in a friendly carrom match on 24th August 2025. The event was held at the Wayamba University premises.

Twelve selected players from the University of Vavuniya represented their university in this friendly competition. In addition, the match served as an important practice session for the upcoming Sri Lanka University Games 2025.

Purpose of the Event

The friendly match was organised to promote sportsmanship among university students. Moreover, it helped strengthen inter-university relationships.

It also provided players with valuable competitive experience in a real match environment. Therefore, the event played an important role in sports development.

During the event, both universities competed in two matches. Each team won one match. As a result, the overall outcome ended in a 1–1 draw.

The matches were played in a friendly and energetic atmosphere. Furthermore, players from both sides demonstrated strong skills, teamwork, and strategic thinking throughout the games.
