The Chuvash I. Yakovlev State Pedagogical University designed this beginner-level course specifically for University of Vavuniya undergraduates. The course runs over three intensive days. Students gain practical skills in Russian vocabulary, pronunciation, and everyday communication.

This collaboration strengthens academic ties between Sri Lanka and Russia. It also gives students exposure to an internationally recognized language with growing global relevance.

2025 Cohort – Certificate Ceremony

The most recent cohort completed the course successfully. A total of 59 students participated and finished all three days of training. The certificate awarding ceremony was held on 14th August 2025 at the IT Centre Board Room, University of Vavuniya. University officials and faculty attended to honour the graduates.
