The Career Guidance Unit of the University of Vavuniya successfully organized a highly impactful workshop titled “AI-Powered Entrepreneurship: Turning Smart Ideas into Startups.” on 03rd November 2025 via Zoom. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Nash Sivaganesh, an esteemed industry leader and Vice President at Version, USA. The primary objective of the session was to inspire and equip students with entrepreneurial thinking and innovative approaches aligned with the dynamics of the modern tech industry. Mr. Sivaganesh shared deep insights into the mindset and attributes required to build and scale successful start-ups in the technology sector with AI. His session emphasized critical themes such as embracing failure as a learning tool, validating ideas through market feedback, the importance of team dynamics, and leveraging emerging technologies for value creation.

The session was highly engaging and interactive. Mr. Sivaganesh, drawing from his extensive global experience, illustrated real-world case studies and challenges faced by tech entrepreneurs, providing students with a practical perspective on entrepreneurship. The participants, comprising 160 undergraduates from all three faculties, actively participated in the discussion, with many students posing thoughtful and enthusiastic questions regarding idea generation, funding opportunities, risk management, and growth strategies for start-ups with AI.

The primary objective of equipping students with entrepreneurial thinking and innovative approaches was effectively met. Mr. Nash Sivaganesh’s focus on key start-up concepts such as embracing failure, validating market ideas, and leveraging technology provided students with a solid foundation in entrepreneurial thinking aligned with the modern tech industry

The workshop concluded with a strong message encouraging students to cultivate curiosity, resilience, and a problem-solving attitude essential for entrepreneurial success.
