The Career Guidance Unit of the University of Vavuniya successfully organized an inspiring and insightful seminar titled “Navigating the Academic Journey: Insights from Academic Career and Research at IIT Madras” on the 29th of October 2025 at TLH2, Faculty of Technological Studies, University of Vavuniya.
The session was conducted by Eng. R. Yesindan, Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, University of Jaffna, who shared his valuable academic and research experiences at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, one of Asia’s leading technological institutions. His presentation provided deep insights into the academic environment, research culture, and opportunities available for students aspiring to pursue higher education and research careers in reputed international universities.
The seminar attracted an enthusiastic audience of around 180 participants, primarily from the ICTand IT degree programs of the University of Vavuniya. Students actively engaged in discussions, seeking guidance on academic excellence, research project development, scholarship opportunities, and career planning in the field of technology and innovation.
The objectives of the seminar were successfully achieved to a significant extent. The session effectively provided students with valuable insights into academic and research opportunities at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. Through the engaging presentation and interactive discussions led by Eng. R.
