The Inter-University Karate Championship was organized by the University of Colombo under the supervision of the Sri Lanka Universities Sports Association (SLUSA) on 2nd 3rd and 4th December 2022 at the Indoor Gymnasium, University of Colombo.

There were 08 students (03 male & 05 female) who represented the University of Vavuniya to the Inter-University Karate Championships.

At the Tournament, Mr. Salitha Dilshan Mendis (2020/ASB/099) of the Faculty of Applied Science, University of Vavuniya, won first place in the below 67 kg weight category of the Kumite event.

This is the first win of the University of Vavuniya at an inter-university sports tournament. It is a historical occasion to the sports at University of Vavuniya. The Physical Education Unit congratulates Mr Salitha for his performance.
