On 21st June 2025, the University of Vavuniya hosted a friendly 50-over cricket match against
North Star Sports Club. University of Vavuniya struggled early in their innings but managed 118
runs, thanks to small partnerships and extras. North Star also faced pressure during their chase,
losing 8 wickets, but clinched the win in the 31st over with steady late batting. Tight bowling
from both teams and a high number of wide (46 in total) made the match a close and exciting
contest.
