A friendly volleyball match between the University of Vavuniya community and officials of the Indian Embassy was successfully held at the University of Vavuniya Volleyball Court on 19th September 2025. The event highlighted camaraderie, sportsmanship, and cross-cultural friendship.
In a spirited contest, the University of Vavuniya team showcased remarkable teamwork and skill, securing victory with an impressive 3–0 win over their opponents. The match drew much enthusiasm from players and spectators alike, reflecting the strong sporting culture within the university.
The occasion was honored by the presence of Mr. Sai Murali, Deputy Consul General of India, Senior Professor A. Atputharajah, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Vavuniya, and Mr. Rajavishagan, Registrar of the University. Officials from the Indian Consulate, university staff members, and many students also attended and cheered for the teams, adding to the lively atmosphere.
At the conclusion of the match, the winning team was awarded a championship trophy and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performance. The event not only celebrated athletic excellence but also strengthened the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the University of Vavuniya and the Indian Consulate
