The Colors Night of the University of Vavuniya was successfully held on 12 December 2025 at the Smart Lecture Hall, Faculty of Applied Science, from 4.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. in a grand and vibrant atmosphere.
The event was graced by Dr. M. Kayanan, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science and former Chairman of the Sports Advisory Board, who attended as the Special Guest and added great prestige to the occasion.

The ceremony was further honoured by the presence of Mr. Ramramanan, Bursar of the University; Ms. Yasodha Ramramanan, Student Counsellor; Ms. Akkila, Lecturer of the Faculty of Business Studies; Mr. Suman, Marshal; and Mr. Lesly, Karate Coach. The programme commenced with the Welcome Speech delivered by the Acting Director of the Physical Education Unit.

The participation of these distinguished guests greatly contributed to the success of the event and provided encouragement to the students and athletes. The University of Vavuniya, which secured places at the Inter-University Games 2024 and performed well in their sporting activities, awarded Colors and Half-Colors to deserving athletes.

During the ceremony, the University Table Tennis Team introduced the Table Tennis Memorial Trophy – (Hiruna Dilshan Jayawardena).

Colors Night served as a meaningful platform to recognize and appreciate the dedication, talent, and achievements of student sportsmen and sportswomen, making the evening both memorable and inspiring.
