Open Day 2026 – Tech Waves was an IEEE awareness session organized by the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Vavuniya to introduce students to IEEE, its global community, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. It covered IEEE membership benefits, student activities, and leadership pathways.
The event featured two guest speakers, Ladhushaan Sathasivam, UI/UX Designer at IYKONS Business Services and Former Chairperson of the IEEE Student Branch, and Mithushika Murugamoorthy, Demonstrator at the University of Vavuniya and Former Web Administrator of the IEEE Student Branch, who shared their IEEE journeys, leadership experiences, and professional growth insights.
An interactive Q&A session allowed students to engage with the speakers and learn more about IEEE initiatives and opportunities.
Overall, the event was supported by IEEE Students, the IEEE Foundation Donor Supported Program, and YARL ICE CREAM.
