The University of Vavuniya is proud to announce the remarkable achievement of Team Detach in the preliminary rounds of the esteemed international competition, IEEE YESIST12. The innovative team has secured a place in the finals, where they will represent Sri Lanka and compete against other talented participants from around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team Detach, consisting of brilliant minds S. G. Seyone, M. G. Sonali Kalpani Jayarathne, and Menakan Vijeyanathan, impressed the judges with their outstanding performance in the Innovation Challenge Track. While the details of their project remain undisclosed, it revolves around addressing social and humanitarian challenges aligned with the United Nations\u2019 Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their victory in the preliminary rounds is a testament to the team\u2019s exceptional talent, dedication, and innovative thinking. By emerging victorious, Team Detach has earned the privilege of representing Sri Lanka in the finals of IEEE YESIST12, which will take place on a global platform. Shorubiga, the branch counselor, served as the mentor for Team Detach during their participation in IEEE YESIST12 and A. Harish Kavinda from University of Vavuniya acted as the single point of contact from Sri Lanka for the competition, facilitating communication and ensuring a smooth participation process for Team Detach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
