SUB EVENTS

• Awareness session 01
  This is the first session of the LadyProto awareness series and was held on the 5th of June 2024 via Google Meet. This session introduced LadyProto 1.0 initiative by IEEE Women in Engineering Student Branch Affinity Group of University of Vavuniya; a design hackathon aimed at equipping women engineers with advanced prototyping skills and fostering a culture of innovation and creativity. Ms. Lakna Jayasinghe, Senior UX Designer,  IFS R&D Sri Lanka served as the speaker for this session that explored the importance of LadyProto 1.0 and the background behind the initiative.
• Awareness session 02
  Awareness Session 02 was the second installment in the awareness series organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group at the University of Vavuniya. It was held in the 16th of June 2024 via Google Meet.Ms.Diniti Weerakoon, UX Designer, Rootcode Labs was the speaker of this session and the session further explored the LadyProto 1.0 initiative, building on the foundation of the first session, this event offered participants in-depth knowledge on practical prototyping approaches, shared success stories of women in STEM, and introduced upcoming workshops and resources under the Lady Proto 1.0 initiative. The event emphasized the importance of gender inclusivity in technology and encouraged attendees to take active roles in the IEEE WIE community.
  
  
• Grand Finale
  This is the finale of the LadyProto 1.0 competition held on the 5th of July 2024 via online. This dynamic event, celebrate the creativity and talent of women in design, providing a platform for them to showcase their skills, collaborate, and push the boundaries of possibility. LadyProto 1.0 is a design hackathon opened to all female undergraduates of the University of Vavuniya. The Hackathon took place virtually with the leader board updated throughout the hackathon. The certificates for the winners were presented in a physical event. The hackathon took place successfully adhering to the terms and conditions of the organizing committee and the panel of Judges.
